We had an epic time in Oxnard California aboard the Lauren Sea with seven anglers catching 14 halibut all in a period of a few hours. We found a nice spot with a squid bed in a small cove at the islands and it was wide-open. We caught halibut on squid, swimbaits, and they were hungry. Here's some of the pics from the day.
We released several fish and enjoyed some halibut steaks and beer battered halibut for dinner.
Makes you realize that regardless of tides, if the right bait is in the water, fish will bite.
